Let the Tradition Prevail Amongst Pandemic

Endless fun and laughter. Festive lights and street dances. Parades and various food stalls. This what describes a Festival if I commit it to mind. Each year, we’ve celebrated festivals upon festivals. Every corner of a town would be filled with colorful and festive lights and banners. People would gather all around to create a big crowd and witness the beauty of what’s about to come. Well sucks to be me, it was all just a vision of mine.               Fiestas. When I think of one, I could imagine it so well. There’s music all over, confetti here and there – it’s endless fun and joy within the vicinity. I actually haven’t been in a fiesta nor watched one in real life. I was looking forward to this year’s fiesta, but I already had a feeling that it won’t be as I would expect it to be.                              Every year in Vigan City, on January 25th the Vigan City fiesta is held and celebrated. I remember that it is also...

Lives at Stake

Filipinos are known to be at ease during storms and typhoons, since we are actually used to situations as these. Either rain or shine, we advance to enhance our country as one. Although, ever since the pandemic has taken over our beloved nation, it was seen that many have suffered – from being financially broke, losing jobs, the peoples mental health taking its toll, countless deaths and many more due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is to be said that our “bayanihan spirit” wasn’t really seen nor observed as of those times due to the fact that many civilians only thought about themselves and didn’t really take the pandemic seriously which lead to suffering, death and the people to mourn. It is also to be said that a lot of people in our government are corrupted and may even use us for their needs and wants, which is just real talk. If we really want our country to roam free, we must know how to discipline ourselves first...
