A Brighter Tomorrow Resides Beyond the Sorrow

Every child is special. Childhood is known to be an important part of a person’s life. All of us have been through that timeline and many more will. It is a time wherein you get to be innocent and have fun without a care in the world. Life as a child was like unicorns and rainbows. Although not all of the children get the chance to be “free” and “innocent” nor have a life filled with “unicorns and rainbows”. Many even had to set their dreams aside to work and earn money for a living, just to help their family. This wasn’t supposed to happen for we all know that a child has their right to learn and not to work nor earn.

A child needs to be educated, sheltered, fed, cared for and loved. It is their right and a parents’ responsibility to do so. To serve and provide for a child is a must, or I should say a duty to fulfill. We all know that a child depends on the elderly for them to survive. Their future depends on how their parents or guardians treat them and that is why we must carve a path for them to work their way up to success. Although, if a child does not receive enough of what they need or wasn’t given enough guidance and attention, it is possible for them to rebel and grow up to be unworthy citizens of our land.

The pandemic has been stressful for all of us, not to mention the children getting agitated of it. Due to a lot of major changes in our everyday life, even the youth are being affected as much as we do. At times like these, children are most likely in need of assistance. They need our support and that is something we should never ignore. For us to be by their side is very much necessary, especially at times of crisis, most likely known as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A child is meant to be cherished and guided at all times due to the fact that they cannot decide for themselves. By mentally and emotionally guiding them all throughout the way, the ups and downs in life can never faze them. Well, my point is that no one will ever be left behind amidst this pandemic. Whether you’re young or old, big or small, frail or strong, rich or poor – we all deserve a life full of freedom and bliss. Together with the youth, the heroes of tomorrow, we shall rise even in our darkest days.

As delicate as a child can be, they still ought to bring joy and plaster a smile on our faces amidst this pandemic. They may seem to look happy and all, but we should never let our guard down for we’ll never know what they are thinking about. It is so sad to just see them being locked up at home against their will and can’t do much about it. Although with the help of the elderly, there is no doubt that no child would be left behind. As long as we work together to make a way for the children’s future, it is more than guaranteed for them to be worthy citizens of our country, the Philippines.

The children's rights must be given to them with the help of the parents to educate and care for them especially, children are drastically affected by the pandemic brought by the pernicious virus. They must be assisted and guided because they are tomorrow's hope.
